MESSAGE FROM FOUNDER

After a terrible car accident I was informed … “If your child survives will be a miracle Ms. Nieves Mogas, if this happens there are a lot of probabilities that he will remain dumb and paralyzed for the rest of his days“, said the doctor …. And it was in that moment of loneliness and helplessness when it began to take shape in her mind the idea of helping other people, today I understand that this accident led me to create RETOS ABP, since 1986.

During this time, I have received more than as a recognition, as an endorsement to my commitment, the Civic Merit Medal of the State of Nuevo Leon, the Paul Harris Fellow Award of Rotary International, the Service to Humanity Award from the National Sertoma Club and Regional, the Recognition for a Better Country of the Foundation of Dr. Simi at the local and national level and the Autofin Monterrey Award for social responsibility.

Retos is a reality, that we are fortunately living, initiated with the dream of integrating disabled people into society. This effort has crystallized with many generous hearts and committed wills with the work of the institution.

Thank you to all the people who have been involved in the development of RETOS, without your help none of this could have been possible, I invite you to continue.

Mrs. Nieves Mogas Acosta

Testimonials

In the present letter I give testimony that RETOS is an institution that gives care to adults with different disabilities, my brother Jesus Apolo García Silva, with cerebral palsy and language problems, has been beneficiary for the last 3 years and has improved his behavior and achieved better social abilities, he has also learned how to be more self-sufficient like dressing himself. He is also receiving language therapy and physical therapy to improve his motility. He attends very happy to RETOS, having lots of friends with whom he can share hobbies, recreation activities and visits to Museums, amusement parks, movies and theater.

Cecilia del Refugio García Silva

Two years ago, my son arrived to Instituto RETOS with 3 other friends and the acceptance for their entry with the social worker and the rest of the personnel were very good. My son and I are very happy with the treatment and human quality he receives. They take them out for sport and recreational activities, that sometimes for lack of time and work we cannot do as a family. In RETOS they treat them like if they were at home, they feed them at lunch time, so I only take him home for dinner and make by best effort to spend time with him, the time God permits me.

Thank you for everything.
